About Us

District 11 as we know it today came into being in 1976 with PR Delong being the first Area Coordinator. He was soon followed by Robert P. Barringer who served in the position for 30 years.  Today State Fire/Rescue Training District 11 is overseen by Greg Gray who started his career as a volunteer at W.R. Castle Fire/Rescue.

Today District 11 does training for a six county area which includes Johnson, Floyd, Pike, Martin, Magoffin and Lawrence Counties. District 11 offers each of the 67 departments in it’s area 21 hours of training each year at no cost to the department.
